The Cover
The texture of the cover was created using mod podge and cotton balls. Since the cover is meant to be leathery skin I decided to use this technique as it mimics what SFX makeup artists do to make cuts and gore.
The Pages
I weathered the pages using a solution of coffee and tea. I traced the design on each page with pencil (pdf found here), then inked it. This was the longest part of the process, as there were 105 pages. I burned and futher distressed the pages after inking them.
